I bow before your ability, my dear. Pictures of lightning must take incredible patience, talent, and dare I say, a little luck. Your pictures are fascinating.

Which reminds me: in all your rock-hunting have you ever found any (forget the name) lightning icicles, where the lightning melts the sand?

Debi - no but I think the "dirt" has to be a certain percentage of sand. I think along a beach is were this takes place - no beaches around here - haha.

I'm sure you are right about needing a certain percentage of sand. But quite a few have been found near Monahans! No beach, but plenty of sand. Maybe we should add fulgurite-hunting to our list of things we want to do together sometime :)

P.S. A lot are found in Tyler County, Texas, too, for some reason. Nearish to my mom.
